ABOUT US

N
ew Haven Protecting Our Water - NHPOWer!

We are neighbors and residents working together to protect New Haven waters from toxic sludge.  We oppose the Army Corp of Engineers' plan to dump the waste from Bridgeport Harbor into Morris Cove.  We are all volunteer, nonpartisan, and welcome everyone who cares about this issue.

 SUCCESSES

All our elected officials support our opposition, including Rep. DeLauro, Gov. Malloy, State Senator and Majority Leader Looney, Mayor DeStefano, State Rep. Megna, and Alderwoman Arlene DiPino.

> We asked two questions of Gov. Malloy at his recent Town Hall meeting.  He confirmed that our harbor should not have toxic sludge!

> Over 2,000 people have signed our petition asking Rosa DeLauro to oppose the dumping of toxic waste.  You can sign it, too!  Click here to see it.  (Note:  most signatures were done by hand.)

> At our request, the Army Corp of Engineers came back to New Haven with updated information and solicited additional feedback.

> We have developed a corps of people able to speak about the technical and scientific issues.
